Primary Uniform began with a friendship.

We met in New York City in the early 2010s and spent years building careers in different worlds—one in fashion and design, the other in marketing and brand building. Over time, our paths took us across continents. Today, one of us is based in Tokyo, while the other splits time between California and Berlin.

Despite different backgrounds, we found ourselves asking the same question: What would happen if we built something entirely our own?

Primary Uniform is our answer.

We started this brand because we wanted to create the things we were constantly searching for but could never quite find. Pieces that feel effortless yet distinctive. Objects that earn a permanent place in your life. Products designed not around trends or endless choices, but around usefulness, longevity, and personal connection.

We don't believe in perfection. We believe in making things thoughtfully, improving them over time, and only creating products we genuinely want to wear, use, and keep ourselves.

Our approach is simple: fewer decisions, better essentials.

We are drawn to clean lines, understated style, and thoughtful details. We believe a well-curated wardrobe and living space can create more room for focus, creativity, and calm. Through careful curation, we hope to remove some of the noise and offer a place that feels trustworthy, intentional, and easy to return to.

Primary Uniform is built slowly, guided by curiosity and personal taste rather than a predetermined formula. We are creating the brand we wish existed—one product at a time.
